This safari is aimed at the calving season when the massive herds of wildebeest arrive in the Southern most point of their migration over February and March. This is without a doubt one of the best times for you to witness this extraordinary spectacle when the herds find themselves on the vast open plains of the southern Serengeti and Ndutu plains. Here over 8 000 calves are born per day.  With the Calving Season Safari travel in custom designed 4×4 safari vehicles with open roofs for game viewing.  This is a small group seat-in-vehicle safari with a maximum of 6-travellers per vehicle, all with window seats. Traveling for 8-days, the safari includes meals, accommodation, park entry fees and visit to Lake Manyara, Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area & Ngorongoro Crater

Day 1 ARRIVE KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (JRO), TANZANIA

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) exit point by our team who will transfer you to your Hotel located at the foothills of Mount Meru in the city of Arusha, Hotel in Arusha offers the ideal location from which to start your safari adventure. Strategically located in the city center with the best view of Mt. Meru. Freshen up after your journey to Tanzania and unwind in the lush gardens before enjoying a delicious meal. Enjoying the remarkable view of Mount Meru by just walking in the tropical garden. Get an early night’s rest before your safari itinerary kicks off in the morning! Overnight Arusha (with Dinner and breakfast included)

Day 2LAKE MANYARA | OVERNIGHT KARATU

After breakfast, pack your bags and depart with Inquisitive representative for your transfer through Arusha town to a morning drive to Lake Manyara National Park. A welcome table will be set, either at the entrance gate or a short distance away, with tea and coffee, cold drinks and snacks, allowing you to refresh while your guide briefs you on the surrounding area. After hot/cold drinks and snacks, experience your first taste of the wild and beautiful Lake Manyara Set against the steep escarpment of the Rift Valley, you’ll find Lake Manyara National Park with its evergreen groundwater forest and variety of ecosystems including acacia woodland, grassy plains, a swampy fan delta, and – of course – the expansive lake. This diversity attracts a wide variety of mammal, bird, and wildlife species. Manyara is also home to rare tree climbing lions. The park offers excellent game viewing with buffalo, impala, giraffe, bushbuck, waterbuck, hippos, and lots of elephants roam near the lake. Also look out for blue monkeys, Vervet monkeys, and the very active Olive baboon troops.

Depending on your preference, there are a couple of options with regards to how your day is structured at Lake manyara one option could be Explore nature like never before on a unique canopy walk through the treetops of Lake Manyara National Park, second option is to start your day early and head out with a packed lunch on a walking safari, The walk will last for around 3-4 hours You stop in the shade where you will enjoy a delicious packed before heading back to the lodge, Overnight Karatu or similar (with lunch, dinner & breakfast)

Day 3SERENGETI | OVERNIGHT SERENGETI

Head out after an early breakfast for the drive to the Serengeti National Park. The word “Serengeti” is derived from the Maasai language, meaning “endless plain.” En-route to the Serengeti you can opt to visit as Masaai Village, a perfect place to explore Maasai culture and even participate in some tribal activities Or visit Olduvai Gorge, known as the Cradle of Humanity; the Museum is a testament to the long journey that humanity has made from its humble roots in East Africa to its current state as the dominant species on earth. On Arrival at the Naabi Gate a welcome table will be set up either at the entrance gate or a short distance away, with tea and coffee, cold drinks and snacks, allowing you to refresh while your guide briefs you on the surrounding area. After hot/cold drinks and snacks, experience your first taste of the great Serengeti and the Lion King Safari on an afternoon game drive with one of the superb guides. Overnight at Serengeti or Similar (with lunch, dinner & breakfast)

Day 4SERENGETI | OVERNIGHT SERENGETI

Relax with full day in the endless plain of Serengeti with game drives – unequalled for its beauty and home to the Great Wildebeest Migration. The huge herds of plains game such as wildebeest, zebra and antelope dominate the park while the attendant predators such as lion and cheetah are to be found amongst the many kopjes scattered across the plain. Its landscape varies from open grass plains in the south, savanna with scattered acacia trees in the center, hilly, wooded grassland in the north, to extensive woodland and black clay plains to the west.
Depending on your preference, there are a couple of options with regards to how your day is structured in the Serengeti. One option could be to start your day with an early morning Balloon excursion followed with picnic breakfast at the end, second option is to break camp early and head out with a picnic breakfast on a morning game drive, returning to camp in time for lunch. Alternatively, you can eat breakfast in camp and head out with a picnic lunch on an afternoon game drive, returning in the mid-afternoon. Despite sharing vehicles on a Safari Package basis, we will do everything it can to ensure that your ideal structure is met. Overnight Serengeti or similar (with lunch, dinner & breakfast)

Day 5NGORONGORO | OVERNIGHT AT NGORONGORO

After an early breakfast, pack your bags and enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti before your transfer to the next destination with delicious & packed lunch while taking into the beautiful scenery of Tanzania on your game drive, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, part of the southern Serengeti eco-system. The majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found on the short-grass plains from December to April. The area is usually heavily populated with elephant, birds and resident game. Check-in at the lodge with an afternoon game drive. Overnight Ngorongoro conservation nor similar (with lunch, dinner & breakfast)

 The crater is packed with wildlife, including the big 5.
 Best place to see black rhino in Tanzania as well as prides of lion that include black-mane males.
 Flamingos and a variety of other water birds around the soda lake on the crater floor.

Day 6NGORONGORO CONSERVATION | OVERNIGHT NGORONGORO

Enjoy a full day game drive in the Ndutu area. Explore the range of different habitats that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes and the world famous Serengeti short grass plains. See great herds of wildebeest and zebra. During this period the majority of the wildebeest calve. This is also the time of year with the best predator action! Indeed a fantastic time to view high concentration of wildlife. Wildebeest calves can run minutes after they are born and within 3 days they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd. The marshes and lakes support a huge variety of bird life as well as resident lion prides. Cheetahs are abundant in the plains, and the wooded ridges are always productive.Overnight Ngorongoro conservation (with lunch, dinner & breakfast)

Day 7NGORONGORO | OVERNIGHT KARATU

This morning, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for game driving and exploration. The crater is 600m deep, 16km across and 265 sq km in area. Enjoy the spectacular scenery and game viewing, in what has been described as the eighth wonder of the world. Many of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino can be seen grazing on the open grassland of the crater floor, surrounded by some of the 20,000 large animals that occupy the crater, including lion, cheetah, eland, zebra and gazelle. Flamingo, among other bird species, can often be seen feeding at Makat Soda Lake as well. Afternoon dive to your lodge for your overnight stay. Overnight Karatu (with lunch, dinner & breakfast)

Day 8DEPARTURE | KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Departure: After early breakfast, you will depart to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home, here you’ll bid farewell to your guide for your onward journey. it is with great regret to inform you that your Tanzania Safari & vacation has come to an end. While the memories will last forever, we do hope you will return one day to retrace the steps of the adventure you just completed with us.
