Reviews of Inquisitive Africa

GUEST REVIEWS

I recommend- do the safari as much as possible. Take a walking Safari, hot air balloon rider & Bush Breakfast for a life changing experience. Eat all the food, drink all the drinks. Everything is at Excellent. The food is amazing.

Great wildlife viewing, elegant setting

On our 5th trip to Africa, we stayed at Mara Plains for 5 nights and we loved it! Our guide, Kevin, was fantastic, and made sure we saw all the big cats, which we love. Our tent was elegant, with a deep copper bathtub which I used every night. The setting is beautiful, the managers Sam and Becky were great, and all the staff members were so nice. I had an African Head Massage at the spa which I loved. A walking safari with a “bush breakfast” was a highlight. Loved this place!

Magical and Relaxing – Dream Come True

My husband and I went to Matemwe after 10 days of safari with my brother – we wanted a bit of couple time and to be pampered after bouncing on dirt roads for 6days. We arrived at the resort and couldn’t believe our accommodations – a gorgeous 2 story villa, with a butler and our own plunge pool! So romantic! And relaxing! Our villa was beautiful – stunning views of Member Island and a wonderful huge porch with double hammock, double lounge to enjoy. Upstairs a plunge pool and more lounges. We had dinner twice on our private upstairs veranda. It was fun to just hide away for a few days and relax. We did make it to the bar – there are bush-babies who visit the bar every evening to politely take banana slices from the guests! And an amazing seafood BBQ our last night! Our butler was so accommodating – everything was hakuna matata – just enjoy!

Safari

Joseph picked us up at the Lake Duluti Lodge in Arusha and took us to Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater. Our safari was amazing. We saw the big five! Joseph made sure I was in the best place to get the best picture. I highly recommend you requesting him as your guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife.

Great safari and great guide Emmanuel to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater

My wife and I did a 5-day safari with Inquisitive Africa. It was a once in a lifetime experience from start to finish. We were picked up at Kilimanjaro International airport by a transport driver and dropped at our first lodge in Arusha. In the morning we had a quick briefing with Alex and met our guide/driver Emmanuel. He is a knowledgeable guide who taught us not only a lot about the animals but also about the country, terrain etc. He has incredible eyes as he spotted the animals way before we did. He was also very accommodating for our needs and was regularly checking if everything was all right. Every evening he made sure that all was prepared for the next day. He was an excellent driver. Emmanuel started his career as park ranger and has knowledge of the park not all drivers have. He drove us to places where we were all alone together with elephants, lions an even a leopard lost in a tree.  I recommend Inquisitive Africa and ask for Emmanuel if you would book a safari.

I cannot Say enough about staff. Emmanuel my guide spent an average of 6hrs a day touring me around, looking for animals. He knew I was more into being alone and not really mingling with couples on their honeymoon so he gave me private safari’s every day. He answered all my questions. I spent many nights and glasses of wine being poured by Anne. Kind human being- the entire staff. The happiness and energetic joy are in all of them. I will dearly miss them and most definitely will go back. I nearly cried once I got the plane back home.

Amazing trip to Africa, planned and organized by Planet Africa

Mariam at Inquisitive Africa did a wonderful job helping me plan our month-long trip to Africa. We traveled to Zanzibar, 3 national parks in mainland Tanzania for wildlife game drives, Kigali Rwanda, Bwindi Forest in Uganda (for mountain gorilla tracking), Victoria Falls, and finally Cape Town area. Inquisitive Africa organized the trip very well and we had great drivers and guides in all our different travel locations. The hotels and safari camps were wonderful. I highly recommend using Inquisitive Africa for a trip to Africa.

Spectacular Jabali Ridge

This place is beyond words! It is so spectacular in every way!! The gorgeous accommodations, the unbelievable game viewing, the superb guides, the warm and welcoming staff, the delicious cuisine, and I could go on and on! We stayed at the private house and it was heavenly with 3 bedrooms, a large sitting area, kitchen, outside deck and a pool. The greatest part of our safari was how much game life we saw, from the large to the small, from close up macro views of elephants, prides of lions, giraffe, zebra, hippos, and baboons, to micro views of ant colonies, tortoise, and dung beetles, snakes, birds, and everything in between. There are very few vehicles on the road in this vast park and therefore no ‘Jeep jam’ issues. Our experience was first rate and I have only positive things to say. Don’t miss Jabali Ridge, it is a very special treat!

Another unforgettable trip to Africa with Inquisitive Africa!

We just came back from our second African trip organised by Inquisitive Africa. This time we spent our vacation in 3 different camps in Botswana (Kalahari, Okavango delta) and in one lodge in Zambia (Victoria Falls). Our dream starts from the very first contact with this agency, thanks to Ethan and Mariam who are extremely efficient, professional, passionate and pleasant. They are always attentive to our requests and ready to readjust the programme based on our wishes.
We can feel that they know what we want and we fully trust their knowledge on what they are proposing. From their very first offer, we start dreaming about our trip…The itinerary then exceeds our expectations on site. We again experienced zero fault in any aspect of the organization and logistics of our trip. Since we came back we started thinking of our next African journey which we will certainly put once more in the hands of Mariam and her team, with confidence and excitement. We highly recommend this Company! Thank you, Inquisitive Africa, our preferred agency for safaris in Africa!

5 days of our lives we will never forget

We did a 5-day Safari with Inquisitive Africa! which took in the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire . We were picked up by our guide, a wonderful chap called Goodluck, from Kilimanjaro airport to our lovely hotel which had been booked for us by Inquisitive Africa. Early the next morning Goodluck picked us up from the hotel and our adventure began.  All our lodges were part of the Serena group of hotels and all were lovely. Goodluck  was the most amazing guide and truly helped to make our experience one to remember. He was knowledgeable on the animals, birds, plant life and the local people. We can’t thank him enough. After our amazing trip in which we saw and got close to far more animals than expected, Our whole experience from initial booking to being taken to the airport was one of professionalism and caring. Thank you, all guys. This is one holiday my husband and I will always remember

Spectacular experience! Thank you, Inquisitive Africa!!

Did an overnight excursion to Okavango Delta. This was a wonderful experience and highly recommend for other solo, couple or family travelers. Camping out in the wild, chatting to the locals, going on bush walks are all a major not to be missed highlight.

Amazing!

Mariam at Inquisitive Africa planned our trip to perfection. I had done quite a bit of research and as soon as I called Mariam from Inquisitive Africa, I knew Mariam was the right one to make everything seamless; we were not disappointed. The camps she recommended and the arrangements she coordinated were expertly handled. During the planning process we especially enjoyed her quick turnaround and other “extras” like sending us a trip reading list! We would certainly use Mariam and Inquisitive Africa Safaris again. We are already planning another trip with them.

The Drive to Serengeti in breath taking. The Guides point out every detail to the naked eye and untrained mind are curious to know. Arriving at our hotel in Serengeti as well blew my mind and heart away. You are greeted with ease, warmth, safety and delight. Be prepared to have your mind blown. Quiet, peaceful, no shortage of views, privacy. All-inclusive meals and drinks are what vacation indulgence dreams are made of.

As a young woman travelling alone to Africa for the first time, I was a little nervous. From the moment I stepped off the plane in Rwanda, my journey with the friendliest Inquisitive Africa staff and exceptional service began. I was taken care of like a member of their family. The instant, John, who would end up being my guide for the duration of my trip, picked me up at the Airport I knew this was going to be an amazing trip.

Exquisite camp in spectacular location!

Absolutely beautiful and exciting location and stunning accommodation with views of the wildlife.
Della and Rich were the perfect hosts with their knowledge and very warm hospitality. The game drives were filled with special sightings and diversity. Very recommendable for a true ” out of Africa ” experience!

Surely beyond expectations! Thank you, Inquisitive Africa, !!

We were pleasantly surprised when our Safari operator informed us that we had been upgraded to stay at the “and Beyond Ngorongoro Crater lodge”. At first, we did not know what to expect. When we got there, it was out of this world! Located at a higher altitude on the edge of Ngorongoro crater, it gave us a 360-degree view of the crater with stunning views hard to describe. Our Cottage with private balcony was luxurious with nothing more we could have asked for or imagined. The common dining and guest lounge were great with not-surprisingly exited tourists. The service was impeccable and the food served, good to die-for! Would definitely recommend Inquisitive Africa for anyone planning trip to Africa.

On game drives we saw everything: Lion, Zebra, rhino, giraffe, hippos, crocs, leopard, buffalo and cheetah plenty and were able to watch them go about their daily activities undisturbed in the endless plain of Serengeti. Perhaps because we went at the end of October we were lucky not to have many other safari cars around. Perfect for watching the wildlife.

My husband and I travelled with Inquisitive Africa as the last stop in our Kenya Journey. Inquisitive impressed us from the moment we were picked at the airport to us leaving on the airport for our flight home. Still dreaming of Inquisitive Africa Safari!

7-night tour of Tanzania with Inquisitive Africa

I booked my Tanzania safari with Inquisitive Africa Adventure. Our guide was Moudy who was incredible. Amazing eye for wildlife – I don’t know how he managed driving and looking out for game at the same time. Moudy showed great care for the environment and displayed excellent knowledge about the parks and the wildlife. The tour covered Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire over 8 days. We saw 22 lions in a single day, a cheetah feasting on an impala, the elusive leopard and tons of other wildlife. I did get to see a rhino and her baby in Ngorongoro which completed theBig  5.Tarangire is the place for elephants. I’m so thankful that I had Moudy as our guide. He’s a wonderful person and I was sad when the adventure ended. I highly recommend Inquisitive Africa and Moudy.

Magnificent Mara Plains!!

This is the definitive camp to explore the wonders of the Maasai-Mara, nested in the private concession you feel you have the Mara all to yourself. Stella runs a fabulous operation with an engaged and proactive team that focus on pampering and a fulfilling guest experience. My guide Duncan knew the territory inside out — and his knowledge of the wildlife and geography was incredible. The tents were decorated in a 1920s style with amazing attention to detail — it was like taking a journey back in time without losing any creature comforts. The food hit the spot, chef would have whipped up anything to please. All in all, magnificent and brilliant and worth every penny. Thank you Inquisitive Africa!

Tanzania Safari

We booked this through Inquisitive Africa for an amazing all-inclusive price. We stayed at gorgeous lodges and a tent resort in the Serengeti. We stayed 6 nights and 7 days and visited 4 National Parks in Tanzania. We had an awesome guide/driver all to ourselves. It was a trip of a lifetime! The only thing I might have done differently was book our own flights and paid extra. The cheapest flights were not the most direct, but no complaints because the price was so affordable.

Could not have been better!

I had dreamed of this trip for more than 20 years and it did not disappoint! I read reviews and see that others are very happy with their guides, but I have to say unless they were lucky enough to get Isack, they did not have the best! He was knowledgeable, patient, indulgent, interesting, so much fun, and made my trip that much better. He was kind enough to teach me some Swahili, even though I imagine I was bugging him a bit. He definitely has a fan club with all five of us!

Inquisitive Africa overall was wonderful and I will definitely use them again next time!

Knowledgeable and experienced guides

Amazing trip with Samuel through the Serengeti. He educated us and provided lots of laughs. We were very grateful for his excellent driving skills because we saw others get stuck. Inquisitive Africa also offered a walking tour in Arusha which was a nice surprise. Our group had 3 trucks which was well coordinated and organized.

5 Days in Ruaha, Thank you Inquisitive Africa!

This safari park is wonderfully situated on the bend of a river. Whilst having a pre-dinner drink around a fire close to the river it was not unusual to have a hippo come out of the water and walk through the camp. Many other animals and birds roamed freely on the other side of the river and occasionally on our side too. The rooms were spacious and clean, the food was varied and tasty and the safari trips magnificent and varied. Because there has been no hunting for over a decade the animals are not scared of the jeeps and close up viewing is a regular joy.

The accommodations- were stunning to say the least! This was the most modern camp that we stayed at during our time in South Africa. The hotel rooms were so spacious. Included lovely hair/body products and even an electric blanket. Let’s just say that no detail was left unthought of my favorite touch was that in the room, they included two postcards with stamps to send to friends/family. Very thoughtful.

Visiting Kenya!

Inquisitive Africa provided for a wonderful experience while traveling in Kenya. Their driver and guide, Simon, made game drives, understanding the language, customs and much information easy for us. He seemed to be well respected by all we encountered.

Amazing, Unique & Exceptional Views

Incredible Place located in front of the Ngorongoro Crater. Exceptional Views, excellent staff, service, attention, food and drinks. Luxury accommodations with a combination of amazing stile and furniture’s. Your personal porter looking after what you need whenever you need. The Best within the Best. A Unique Lodge located in a unique Place. It is worth to know it. Don’t miss the opportunity to plan your Trip with Inquisitive Africa!!

Incredible! Still dreaming of Inquisitive Africa Safaris – we were paired with Iddy who was very friendly, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. He knew exactly where to take us to see some animals and always had a smile on his face. We learned to trust him very quickly simply because he was such an expert with the animals and their behavior, so if Iddy was calm we knew everything was ok. He was a joy to be around and it was special for us to visit his family towards the end of our trip.  We consider him a friend now!

My husband and I spent some time with Alex to learn photography and that was a highlight for him. We are excited to hang some of his pictures in our home! Again, from start to finish we felt comfortable, taken care of and looked after. The Inquisitive Africa team created so many special memories for us during our honeymoon that we are forever grateful for, a hot air balloon experience, an out of Africa secluded lunch, a sundowner event on our last night and many more.

We Cannot wait to go back and bring some friends with us next year! Thank you, Inquisitive Africa!

Photo trip

This is our second time here because it’s our favorite place in Africa. The drivers understand photography and lighting, are extremely well versed in animal behavior and leave you knowing you with a top professional.

The rooms are very spacious and decorated with the wonderful colonial safari theme. They are also very private from one another

The food, rather served in the main dining room or out on some hillside overlooking the plains is always fabulous. And eating by candlelight at your tent it’s just decadent.

There’s a small gift shop with unusual and wonderful things to purchase just before you head home. Is the only place I have ever found gifts I wanted to take home to friends? Lafteries suggested Mara Planes Camp to me several years ago and he was right on.

Another huge plus for it is it’s right outside the Mara Plains Conservancy. Animals are abundant but people are not which is heaven. You will feel you have Africa all to yourself

Kenya 2019-20

I took my family of 4 (2 kids 7&9) on a great trip to Kenya during the 2019-20 holiday. Inquisitive Africa organized everything and I was pleased with all of the lodges and transfers. Thanks for a wonderful trip Inquisitive Africa!

Safari & Honeymoon Trip of a lifetime

Alex and the entire Inquisitive Africa team was amazing from helping us plan our honeymoon from the very beginning through the entire trip. We wanted to visit Kenya for safari and then have some beach time in Zanzibar at the end and he planned an amazing trip with 3 different locations for safari and an incredible beach resort for our relaxation at the end. On top of picking first rate camps, the transportation and logistics from flights to taxis to getting through customs was so smooth, my wife and I could not have asked for anything else. If you want to go on safari in Africa, I can’t recommend Inquisitive Africa enough and they will be able to cater the trip to your every need and always be available for any questions along the way.

Dear Inquisitive Africa,
Thank you for reaching out to us.

Our trip overall was fantastic and a great value. We have communicated widely to our contacts our positive experience with Inquisitive Africa.

We had three components to our trip – Kilimanjaro, Safari, Zanzibar. All three were great experiences. We recommend your group highly.
Thank you again.
Alex May

Good Morning!
I know my husband Alex sent you an email giving feedback about our recent trip.  I wanted to add a few things.

First, we had a WONDERFUL trip and appreciated all the preparation Inquisitive Africa did to make our trip and summit happen. The whole experience was a fabulous way for us to celebrate our 55th and 60th birthdays and our 30th wedding anniversary.

On the Kilimanjaro trek, Alex, Oscar and Robert were EXCELLENT guides and very professional. They were knowledgeable and informative showing us vegetation, animals and landmarks along the Rongai Route. They were quite attentive but also allowed for privacy.

Our safari part of the trip was great. Olias (not sure how to spell his name), our driver was EXCELLENT.  He was always positive, happy, informative and an EXCELLENT driver.  The conditions were wet and muddy with flooding and he navigated all of that with ease.

Lake Dulati Lodge was VERY nice. All the staff were attentive and the room was well-appointed.

Zanzibar Queen Hotel was EXCELLENT.  Well-appointed room. Beautiful view.  Friendly, professional staff. Delicious food at every meal.  Nightly shows were entertaining and fun.

Overall, Alex and I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our trip.  Eileen is an excellent ambassador for Inquisitive Africa and knows how to engage prospective climbers when he is promoting your excursions.

Some areas for improvement:
Tipping should be made clear to travelers as each country has different customs about tipping.
Travelers should be encouraged to change their currency into Tanzanian currency.

Thank you again for all your efforts to make our trip to Tanzania so memorable!

Keep up the fine work!

Best,

Can I give BlueBay more than 5 Stars??

I have never been to a resort that was more accommodating and comfortable than BlueBay!! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special and even helped us ship some items home when we couldn’t fit them in our bags. The hospitality was unprecedented and made me want to stay at BlueBay forever! Khalid, if you are reading this, I think of you every time I see our souvenirs that you so diligently packed and sent to us. Thank you so much for giving us such an amazing experience and helping us get our souvenirs home!

Safari Driver

Our driver Prosper was fabulous. We spent seven days with him and
Toured five parks with him. He was very knowledgeable about the animals and trees etc. he made the experience so memorable!

AMAZING safari thanks to Inquisitive Africa!!!

If I could give Mariam and her colleague Alex at Inquisitive Africa eleven stars, I would. They planned our 8-day safari to 4 places in Tanzania so perfectly and we had a simply magical experience. The camps (Little Oliver’s, Dunia (run only by women) were all wonderful with great, welcoming staffs, expert guides, and great food. The lodge they chose for us at Ngorongoro Crater, Plantation Lodge, amazing and perfect.  Most importantly, our flying and driving transfers were all seamless and expertly planned, as was the order of the route.  I would never consider another company for complete Safari planning; thanks Mariam and Alex!!!

Heaven in the Mara

Mara Plains was the final stop of our November/December safari that took us from north to south. And it was definitely the highlight.

The tent overlooking the Conservancy was beyond beautiful, the service excellent and the food very good. Special mention to Sandra, who I believe was serving as interim manager, and went out of her way to make sure our needs were met and special requests fulfilled.

Finally, our guide Edwin was superb, with a great eye for game but also a deep knowledge that made him one of the very best guides we have had in our four safaris in five African countries.

Five stars all the way.

Great tour, knowledgeable driver/guide

Traveled on safari in Kenya and Tanzania for two weeks. Once we crossed the border into Tanzania we joined Inquisitive Africa. Our driver guides, Edward, were fantastic. They looked after our group of eight so well, and ensured we saw everything we possibly wanted to see and more.

Highly recommend a private tour with Inquisitive Africa, these guys are amazing. Thank you!
