Day 3 NGORONGORO CRATER | OVERNIGHT NGORONGORO

After an early breakfast, pack your bags and depart with your driver to Ngorongoro Crater, an early start to the day is best in order to avoid the later influx of tourists into the Ngorongoro Crater. The park gate opens at 0600, so it is best to be there as close to this time as possible. There are a number of lions which are typically larger in size than an average lion due the large amount of game in the area. The crater floor tends to get very busy, with there often being numerous vehicles at any wildlife sighting.
The Ngorongoro Crater is a large, unbroken, un-flooded caldera, formed when a giant volcano erupted and collapsed some three million years ago. Had it not become a caldera, it is possible that the volcanic mountain would be about the same height as Kilimanjaro. The caldera is 600m deep, 16km across and 265 sq km in area. Enjoy the spectacular scenery and game viewing, in what has been described as the eighth wonder of the world. Many of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino can be seen grazing on the open grassland of the crater floor, surrounded by some of the 25,000 large animals that occupy the crater, including lion, cheetah, wildebeest, eland, zebra and gazelle. Flamingo, among other bird species, can often be seen feeding at Makat Soda Lake as well. Afternoon drive to your lodge for your overnight stay. (with lunch, dinner & breakfast) all located on the rim of this amazing caldera with a perfect view. The lodges similar in quality and are subject to availability-early booking is highly recommended.

The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken ancient volcanic caldera in the world. In 1979 this nearly three-million-year-old area was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The former volcano crater is also considered to be “Africa’s Garden of Eden” as it is a haven for thousands of wild games, including lions, elephants, wildebeests, zebras, rhinos, Thomson’s gazelles and buffaloes. The crater is among the 8 Natural Wonders of the World.

Highlights:
 A natural wonder of the world and is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
 The crater is packed with wildlife, including the big 5.
 Best place to see black rhino in Tanzania as well as prides of lion that include black-mane males.
 Flamingos and a variety of other water birds around the soda lake on the crater floor.

Day 4SERENGETI | OVERNIGHT SERENGETI

Head out after an early breakfast for the drive to the Serengeti National Park. The word “Serengeti” is derived from the Maasai language, meaning “endless plain.” En-route to the Serengeti you can opt to visit as Masaai Village, a perfect place to explore Maasai culture and even participate in some tribal activities or visit Olduvai Gorge, known as the Cradle of Humanity; the Museum is a testament to the long journey that humanity has made from its humble roots in East Africa to its current state as the dominant species on earth. On Arrival at the Naabi Gate a welcome table will be set up either at the entrance gate or a short distance away, with tea and coffee, cold drinks and snacks, allowing you to refresh while your guide briefs you on the surrounding area. After hot/cold drinks and snacks, experience your first taste of the great Serengeti and the Lion King Safari on an afternoon game drive with one of the superb guides. In the evening transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay (with lunch, dinner & breakfast)

Highlights:
 Meet the Masaai people of Tanzania (optional)
 Visit the Cradle of Mankind (optional)

Day 5SERENGETI | OVERNIGHT SERENGETI

Early morning you will start your day with a hot air balloon experience to explore the mighty Serengeti to its corners for unlimited wildlife adventure on these endless plains and spend some leisure moments at your hotel/lodge.
Unequalled for its beauty Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world and it has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. Established in 1952, it is home to the great migration of wildebeest and zebra. The resident population of lion, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, and birds is also impressive. The Park can be divided into 3 sections:
• The southern/central part (Seronera Valley) with its classic savannah dotted with acacias and filled with wildlife.
• The western corridor is marked by the Grummet River and has more forests and dense bush.
• The north meets up with Kenya’s maasai Mara Reserve is the least visited section.
It is the migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous – over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the rain seasons in April, May and June. During the months of August-September-November the herds will cross the Mara River again and again in search of fresh grass. They will have to face the mighty crocodiles in the river, which are waiting quietly in the water for their opportunity. You will have the opportunity to discover this fascinating area and its wild inhabitants driving through the vast Serengeti Plains.

Depending on your preference, there are a couple of options with regards to how your day is structured in the endless plain of Serengeti. One option could be to start your day with an early morning Balloon excursion followed with picnic breakfast at the end, second option is to break camp early and head out with a picnic breakfast on a morning game drive, returning to camp in time for lunch. Alternatively, you can eat breakfast in camp and head out with a picnic lunch on an afternoon game drive, returning in the mid-afternoon. Tell us your preference and will do everything it can to ensure that your ideal structure is met. In the evening transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay (with lunch, dinner & breakfast)
